Are Elements good for lang trips

We're considering buying one ('03 AWD EX) and did a short test drive. It
seemed pretty good, but we regularly (4x/month) drive 3+ hours across
state. Does anyone have experience with an Element on long trips and could
maybe contrast it to other vehicles (especially AWD)?

You should not have any trouble. I don't like it since it does not seem to
be very aerodynamic--in other words--the wind does not flow over it like
it does a Honda Accord or Honda's sport car. I advise you to buy the
smaller SUV that Honda makes--I think that it is called a Passport. It
seems to be more aerodynamic than the Element. Toyota also makes some
great SUVs but I would never by any vehicle unless it was a Honda.

CR-V is Honda's smaller SUV and Pilot is their larger SUV. Element is right

Actually the Element and CR-V are of similar size, just different
floorplans. The Element has 25.9 cu ft of cargo space behind the rear seat
and 77 total cu ft of cargo space, whereas the V has 33 and 72 cu ft of
space respectively. And as mentioned, the Passport is no longer imported
from Isuzu as the Pilot has replaced it in the lineup.

Honda's 'regular-sized' SUV is the Passport. Honda's CR-V is the
smaller SUV. The Odyssey is Honda's mini-van.

The Pilot is the Honda equivalent of the Acura MDX without the
floss. The Passport (I've driven it) was an Isuzu-made stop-gap until the
Pilot reached these shores. The CR-V has better road manners than the
Element according to Consumer Reports. The Element also needs side-impact
curtain bags "standard", a deficit noted by the IIHS >> http://www.iihs.org/
as it flunked their safety tests.

I think you're probably referring to the CRV which is mechanically
almost identical to the Element
The passport is a re-badged Isuzu Rodeo (truck type chassis).
PUT YOUR CHECKBOOK DOWN AND BACK FAR AWAY FROM THE PASSPORT!!!

I think for alot of long distance driving the Element had shorter
gearing to make up for it's extra weight (those clamshell doors
required some extra reinforcement for strength). You might be happier
with a CRV
