Unexplained leak-- any ideas?

This afternoon I was pulling into a driveway that didn't have a proper slope
to it, with my 1998 Honda Accord, and heard a crashing noise as I hit it.

Immediately I checked the front of the car, and there was a profuse leak
coming from the left side of the car, through a hole in a black rubber
reservoir underneath the windshield wiper fluid container. The liquid
    appeared to be dirty water.

Right away I took the car to a mechanic who put it up on a lift. By that
time, the leak had stopped. They checked the oil, brake, transmission,
power steering, coolant, and windshield wiper fluid levels, and all were
fine. They told me not to worry about it, but a puddle of liquid had just
    leaked out of my car!

Any ideas about what might have happened? It is hard for me to believe that
this is something I shouldn't worry about...

I can't believe they didn't think of your A/C runoff... if you were
using your A/C, that's all it was. Humidity condenses on the cooling
coils and runs out around there.
