I have a 1999 Honda Accord LX. I can start the car fine. Drive it for 2
min. Shut the engine off. Then it takes 3 or 4 times to start. It will
start then die. If I can catch it in time I really give it the gas and
its okay. Fuse to fuel pump okay

There are several possible causes. You could have a malfuctioning fuel
system eg. clogged fuel filter; the injectors might be leaking; the
distributor rotor not working properly; air filter clogged; fuel not
reaching the fuel injection system; or a malfuctioning EVAP system.
The first things that you should do is to buy a can of fuel injector
cleaner and to check the condition of the air filter.
If you don't have any testing equipment, you may want your mechanic hook
the engine up to a diagostic computerized engine tester to track down the
    source of the problem.
I should note that if you have not already done so, the timing belt should
be changed ASAP. I own a 99 Accord EX and love it. I plan to have my
timing belt changed in the near future.

Thanks. I was checking Honda recalls and back in 2004 they replaced the
ignitions switch because of this problem. Could it be the same thing?

It's a possibility, but I doubt it. If this was the problem, you wouldn't only
notice it while trying to start the car, you would see the car suddenly stall
while you were driving. I would do what Jason suggested first as that is the
easiest thing to do. How long has it been since the last air filter replacement?
How many miles are on this vehicle?

I have 64,000 miles on the car. I'll have to check and see when I changed
    the air filter last.

The air filter should have been changed at 30k and 60k.

It's your Main Relay. Wen the car won't start, you'll find the third click
    is missing.

I'd like to thank Jason & Nick for their advice. I put in some fuel
injection cleaner and a new air filter, and guys, so far so good. Thanks
    again!!!
