-I had got new timing belts put on my car for about a 4 days now and they
squeel more than ever. I had put belt dressing on it and the thing is it
never squeled before i got the belts put on. What is the problem?

-Also, i have a 96 honda civic non vtech, I had my catalytic converter on my
headers, well i got new headers and there was only one bolt up for the o2
sensor. Because i have taking off my converter i cant put my sensor anywhere
so i am running check engine light. Where should i put my second O2 sensor
in order for me not to run check engine light?

    Thanx -----Jason

Your car has only one timing belt. Did you actually have the timing belt
replaced, or did you have the various drive belts replaced? Are the
    belts properly tightened?
I know good place to stick it. But seriously, the second O2 sensor
measures the efficiency of the catalytic converter. Since you don't have
one you are probably going to have to live with the check engine light.

no I had all belts replaced, a performace shop installed them. But i head
them may be too tight, sound right?

Never heard of belts squealing because they are too tight. The belt
driving the power steering pumps is supposed to be quite tight; If you
try turning the steering wheel while sitting still with the engine
idling, does it squeal more than usual?

Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost to have the belts replaced?

  5. as for your O2 sensors, since I had a trouble code pertinent to their
operation come up recently, I had to "investigate" , ehre's what I know :

there are 2 02 sensors in 96+ civics, one before (on top) of the cat, and
one after (under) the cat. There are 4-pin wires with protective caps
leading up to them. Just find the "cavities" in the catalytic converter &
screw in the 02 sensors gently to the specified torque (apply some
anti-seize compound to ease the job next time).

Your Haynes/Chilton/whatever car manual should have easy instructions on how
to do it. I'm assuming you know where/what the catalytic converter is (under
the manifold, in front of engine).

Its not a dangerous thing to be running w/o O2 sensors, but you're not using
fuel efficiently, the injection system is working in an "open-loop" system -
meaning that it cannot find the optimum injection value and has to read them
from a table... regardless of the exhaust condition (what the 02 sensors
    monitor).

Except he removed the catalytic converter, and now there is no place to
    put the second O2 sensor.

Hey guys i found out that my alternator belt was too loose so that fixed
that problem. But as far a the O2 sensor, I have a second O2 sensor not
atached because my cat it gone. Can the O2 sensor be put onto the exhaust or
does it have to be behind an cat converter?

The vehicule ECM does not use the signal from the downstream O2 sensor to
adjust fuel/air mixture. This means the rear o2 sensor can be removed. It
will throw the CEL lamp, which is annoying. Rplace it with a o2 sensor
simulator. The simulator fools the ECM by simulating a working O2 signal.
The ECM will turn off the CEL lamp. Can be found on ebay; search for oxygen
sensor simulator. I bought mine there. Less expensive than a real O2 sensor.
If lour local emissions law permit...Ask the vendor for simulating a o2
    sensor with heaters.
