Thief ripped my wires out of ignition lock

    someone tried to steal my car and rip the wires out from the ignition key can I reconnect them without changing the switch or do I have to change a switch or will it switch even work if I do change it I have two wires just hanging there if I touch them to the hole where I think they were ripped out the key makes noise again beyond that I have no power to anything
    it is a 2000 Civic key still goes in and turns but nothing happens I assume because the power wires are hanging there not connected
