S2000 Fuel Injector problems

About a week ago my 2003 S2000 was very rough when starting the
engine from a cold start. The check engine light came on and started
    blinking.

Once the car was warmed up, the check engine light just glowed
    continiously.

Went to the dealer and they said the 4 fuel injectors were bad, and
    needed replacement.

I got the car back yesterday (after spending 3 days at the dealer),
and today the check engine light went on again and stayed on.

Took the car back to the dealer, and they claim one of the four "new"
    injectors is bad.

I have zero experience in car repairs (I'm a Realtor), but it seems
that something else must be causing the injectors to go bad. I use
Chevron Super gas always, and baby the S2000.

Any ideas on the possible cause? I would appreciate any assistance.

since that is a emissions related item, those injectors AND labor had better
    be FREE!

Ya, all the repairs are free/under warranty.

I was just hoping that some of the experts out here might have some
ideas as to what is casuing this? Sounds like something is causing the
    injectors to go bad?

    Brett,
If you park in heated parkades you may be getting too much moisture thru
your fuel system. Switch to an ethanol-enhanced gas for a few tanks and
see if anything changes. You'll keep your injectors cleaner and prevent
    fouling.

Read the part of your manual that describes 'starting in cold weather/
high altitude'. Your engine sounds like it was flooded, which can happen
when injectors 'leak down' the fuel pressure overnight.

Thanks for the info _ I live in Phoenix, AZ so the cold weather
probably isn't an issue. I park my car in my inside garage at my home.

I just keep thinking that the the fuel injectpr(s) going bad are
    indicative of something else.

I had a problem like that years ago with a Datsun 280Z, the first year they
had electronic injection (1975). Rough and rich on cold start and continued
to run rough. Finally diagonosed as a bad thermotime switch that triggered
the cold start injector. Could be a similar problem with an overich start
putting too much gas into the engine. Find it hard to believe that they
would have that many bad injectors given the lengthy experience Honda has
had with injection and that the S2000 has been around a while.

  7. Do you live where we've been having the recent deep-freeze? It's possible
that you have very small amounts of water in the fuel system which are
separating out and freezing at low temps. Maybe try a bottle of gas line
"antifreeze" - the isopropanol stuff is said to be better than the
    methanol.

Has your "baby"ing included using lots of fuel injector/system cleaner?

has some innacurate assumptions in the petroleum chemistry and what
injector deposits consist of but the poster's experience is worth noting
WRT the damage to the nylon sock by some cleaners... which leads to "goo"
    getting into the fuel lines/injectors.

I hope the above does not apply to you but you need to find out what is
coming out of the fuel lines into the fuel injectors. I'd say an
examination of the fuel filter, which is inside the tank, and the fuel pump
    unit/sock is in order here.

  8. Hey Brett,

You may want to post your problem at www.s2ki.com Its a great site with
great people. If you see "tigerfan" over there thats me. You should also
check out your local club over there. You'll meet some great people with
    the same great car.

Thanks - I love my S2k. When I tell people that the car was made by
hand, they just can't believe it.

    Best car I've ever owned.

I got the car back today, and the dealer replaced another single fuel
injector which they said was bad. Seems OK now.
