The check engine light came on when climbing a steep hill on a regular basis
after multiple ecu resets. The MIL code flashed out that the primary oxygen
sensor was slow to respond according to the shop manual chart. We shopped
around and found a california dealer had the best price of $329 (28% off
list-local dealer said list was over $500) http://www.hondapartscheap.com
and we installed it. The car has noticeably more pep now and the check
engine light no longer comes on. Mileage is 138K and the secondary oxygen
sensor was replaced a year ago at about 120K
Question is- do we need to do anything else? Recalibration or whatever. Is
it something we can do ourselves or do we need to take it to the dealer? I
was a Honda mechanic back in the 80s for about 5 years but the newer cars
are a bit of a puzzle to me. I have read the FAQs and scoured the shop
manual and don't see any info available. TIA
