I am in need of a steering rack for my 99 Accord EX V4 (106,000 kms).
It is starting to leak at the boot area. I have checked the price with
Honda and they quoted me a large dollar figure to have it replaced.
Now I am looking at a used rack on Ebay. The ones I have seen on ebay
claim to to fit all accords from 98-02. When I check my Honda dealer,
they tell me the part numbers are very different. The V4 comes in
parts where as the V6 comes as one unit.

Does anyone know the real answer to this riddle?

    Thank you

your search for info will not be helped by saying that you have a "V4"
accord - there is no such thing.

go to hondaautomotiveparts.com and look up the parts online.

and another thing; 106km for leakage is very low for a honda. are you
sure you're using the correct steering fluid? honda use an unique
formula that is not compatible with other steering pump fluids. if the
wrong type is used, your seals will start to leak. if this is a used
vehicle and the history is unknown, you will be well advised to flush
the whole power steering system and refilling with genuine honda fluid
after you've repaired your steering rack.

Thanks for the feedback. The car was not bought used but we did have a
major side collision and it has never been the same since. Constant
repairs with the front end suspension. This time it is the steering
    rack.

So can a 6 cylinder rack work with a 4 cylinder car
