New timing belt breaks

    I replaced timing belt ,water pump , tensioners, put it together it was running fine no issues then two and a half weeks later I'm stopping at a stoplight and it goes dead tow it home found out that my belt had broke .why did it break,it's brand new and since it made no noise whatsoever when it broke , could my engine still be destroyed ? 2014 Honda Ridgeline RTL 3.5
