Has anyone seen and/or driven the new Japanese version Civic Type R.
    have a look here:

In the UK we have just got a new civic type R but the one released in
Japan IMO looks a lot better. 225bhp and 5 doors. Looks more like a 5
door Integra Type R than a civic. Apparantly (after reading reviews)
it is the best and quickest type R (except from the NSX) and Japan
have saved the best for their own.

Uh, have you checked the price? At current conversion rates this car
would cost nearly as much as a base Corvette in the USA and much more
than a Honda S2000. It's no wonder we don't get the Type R here in the
    States.

Yes I've checked the price! Garage near where I live in Scotland
selling importing them for £20,000 which is only about a grand dearer
than the UK spec type R and pretty much the same as the S2000. Sorry I
don't know the price in US dollars and if anyone in the US is
    currently importing them.

At of Friday, 28 July 2007, the exchange rate is $2.029 to the pound, so
    ?20,000 would be $40,580.
