    Hi,

I would like to know if the Karr security system upgrade (EX-1 factory
alarm upgrade) is recommended on a honda pilot (which already has a
security system factory installed). The additional things that the
    karr offers is :

    - Shock sensor,
    - 3 year new car replacement guarantee.

It would cost me about $500 more for the Karr security system upgrade,
if I were to get it from the dealership. Does anyone have any
experience with it ? As to if one should get it installed or is there
any cheaper place that I can get it installed.

    Thanks,
    -Jay.

  3. Generally speaking anytype of alarm purchased through the dealer that didn't
come from the factory is a rip-off. That is how they make their money.
Along with the stupid-ass overprice "paint protectant", "anti-stain interior
scotchgard" , undercoating (which can void many warranties) and the other
little overpriced crap like the $5 worth of pinstriping that they insist you
pay $250 on up for. Personally I would never pay for any of it or the
extended warranty which doesn't seem to cover anything that actually breaks.

For that $500 you could have a very nice alarm installed, with remote start
options and all kinds of other goodies that you won't get from the dealer.
