    Hi

Just wondering if anyone else is getting very low mileage out of their
front pads on the 2.0 litre automatic Stream. I am only getting around
18000miles for a set of pads which seems a little on the low side
especially as I am mainly doing motorway driving i.e doing 50-60 miles
    without touching the brakes!!
This wear level wasn`t picked up at the first service resulting in the
front disks being worn @ 24000 miles

    Regards

It will vary on the climate conditions and the way you drive. I have
to replace my brakes every 15,000-20,000 miles based on how I drive
(excessively fast) on my 95 Integra which is an auto. On my aunt's 99
accord which is a manual she has over 60,000 miles on the original
pads and are only 1/2 worn! I guess you would tend to mind more on
this issue say if you have the dealer charges you $200+ to do it than
paying $40 for the pads and doing the job yourself.

Not familiar with the Honda Stream as we don't have that model in the U.S.
My 01 Prelude has around 45k miles with brakes that will likely last to 60k
or more. I drive the Prelude as you would a car of its type. 18k miles on
brake pads is unacceptable in my opinion. What does you dealer say.

    Hi
The dealer doesn't seem to care, the car comes with a 3 year warranty
and the dealer just says brakes are wear and tear therefore not
    covered by the warranty.
My argument is that that the brakes are faulty by design and/or
manufacture and should be covered. I spoke to the mechanic who did the
work and he admitted that the brakes wear far too quickly on this
model. I guess I will have to complain direct to the manufacturer to
    get any joy.

I did find this http://www.reviewcentre.com/review16270.html on the
net, seems I am not the only one having this problem. The Stream is a
7 seater mini mpv body on top of the Civic chassis, I suspect that
they havent upgraded the brakes to cope with the extra body mass and
    higher centre of gravity.
