Flat rate question

My son in law has a 2018 honda accord 2.0 EXL turbo. They have a overheating issue so they had it towed to the dealer, dealer is saying it's a cracked head and quoting $10k to fix it. I had the estimate sent to me and they are saying 17hrs labor to fix it and from what I see, they are charging way over msrp for the parts.. 17hrs seems excessive to me for that job, especially when they are buying a complete head and don't have to transfer valves over or work the head. Any info would be appreciated.

17h also seems a bit exaggerated to me, especially with a complete cylinder head. I've seen mechanics do this in 10-12h on similar engines. For the price of parts, compare with sites like Majestic Honda or RockAuto to see if the dealer inflates the rates. Maybe it's better to ask for a second opinion at a good independent garage? It could save a lot !
