This is just an outline, more info to come Thursday night.
Attending another class and the instructor brought up emissions warranty. It
varies form car to car maker, Fed law says 2ys 24000, except for cat
converter and o2 sensors, (8ys 80,000)but most manufactures pony up a bit
    higher.
Honda lost a settlement and the fed government slapped a punishment on them.
    96-97-98 Honda's (excluding the passport) have a 14 year 150,000 mile
warranty on items that basically turn on the Check engine light. Also
includes is a free oil change and cap rotor and wires when serviced at the
    dealership.
Anyone else have info please chip in I'll be back Thursday night with more
    specific info.

Right on target with the warranty info. I have a 96 accord EX that I bought
new in 96 and now has 122,000 miles. One of the OC sensors went out (the
most expensive one about $500.00 installed) and the Honda Dealer replaced it
under warranty. I love Honda and especially my 96.

I can also verify this. Check engine light came on at about 130,000 and
I had the EGR valve replaced gratis at the Honda dealer.

I copied the key parts of this bulletin for all to read. I left out some of
the basic stuff I had to copy the notes over by hand to get this.

There are others out there (good luck finding them)

    Honda service bulletin 98-081 March 18 2003

EPA, C.A.R.B. claim OBD system is not sensitive enough to detect some engine

1.. The MIL is on and the cause is an emission related component
2.. The vehicle fails a emissions test and requires an emissions repair
3.. Any emissions related component fails

    2.. Additional services:
    1.. 50,000-75,000 miles
    1. Inspect OBD system follow the service manual procedure to retrieve
DTC set then replace the effected parts

    plugs.

    3. Change the oil and filter

All of the above services are free of charge to the owner

You must use Honda parts and fluid for this service.
