d15b vtec

    I own a 1989 civic si swapped with a sohc d15b vtec (1.5L 130bhp). I cant
    get much info on this engine since they dont exist here (only in japan and
    europe).
    This is what i know:
    -These engines were in the del sols in japan.
    -1997 was the del sols last year
    -My engine has a black valve cover with a vtec written on it
    What i wanna know is if the engine i have, had the possibility of being
    manufactured in 1997 because thats what i was told when i bought it.
    I wanna know this because the only engines ive found on the net with black
    valve covers and vtec on them existed only from 1992 - 1995.
