    hi
    i have a 2001 crv i bought new has just done 75000kms
i have noticed a noise like a squeal when i turn hard around a corner or
turning sharp upon leaving a drive
a friend told me it sounds like a cv joint
just wondered if anyone knows if this is a common fault or am i just unlucky
by the way 72000 of those kms was done on the tyres the car was supplied
    with the Bridgestone dessert duellers
i have just replaced them with bf Goodrich macadam which seem to be very
good at the moment with all most no road noise
    with thanks blaze

Blaze, it's actually because the viscosity your rear differential fluid
is exhausted... It shows up louder on left-hand turns, at low speed. You
can change it yourself, or have the dealer do it. You'll need one litre
of Dual Pump Fluid, which is a proprietary product. Honda left a lot of
the 'dots' out of the maint. schedule in your manual. Concensus is that
it should be replaced after 30,000 km.

Your valve adjustment is also overdue, according to the experience of
the folks over at hondasuv.com. There's even Ozzies over there ! !
