a message in the "honda model definitions" thread made me thnk f an old
publication I used to ahve, where is showed you how to install a cruise
control into the car of your choce, Be it a Lancier integrale, or an BL
mini.Gave me to wonder if such kits are still avilable nowadays. I do a lot
of driving along boring state and US highways, where it would be nice to
have a Cruise control. Its to go in my battered old 88 civic Dx (automatic)

    Regards.

Sure, go to JC Whitney's auto parts and I am certain they'll have one of
these universal cruise control jobs. Of course these thing amount to nothing
more than a broomstick proped up against your gas pedal for all intents and
purposes. The factory versions are a bit more sophisticated, well most are.
The cruise control in my friend's CRV is a POS. Maybe it is a manual
transmission thing but to me a cruise control shouldn't try to 'grenade' an
engine if the clutch is engaged. Sure enough, you better turn off the clutch
if you do anything other than touch the gas or brake...

This is the aftermarket kit sold for many years as Perfect Circle.
Thousands were installed by dealerships before CC became standard equipment.
Easy to install, and you can also buy the turn signal stalk w/CC switch so it
    looks and works like factory.

Something is wrong with your friend's vehicle. Engaging the clutch should
    disconnect the cruise control immediately.
