just got a 2005 Accord Sedan and want to connect my iPOD into the
radio for usage. I was able to connect the iPOD in the past via the
cassette adaptor, but the '05's dont have cassette players in them.

the knucklehead at the dealer said that they would have to "cut into"
the electrical system to accomplish this and thus voiding my electrial
    warranty.....huh?

there muct be an "out" on the 2005 stock radio wherby I could simply
plug the iPOD into....anyone in the know?

i was thinking something along the lines of this :

I have used a PIE with 2 Hondas and helped install in a few other cars and I
think they are brilliant. I use it primarily for an XM receiver but for
kicks will use an RCA to a stereo mini jack patch cable and hook up my MP3
player every once in a while, the sound quality is as good as it's gonna get
as far as connection methods are concerned.

Can you get a cassette player installed as an option? That's what I did with my
2004 Civic EX sedan since I didn't want to lose the ipod option.

  4. Please ignore the other poster stating that she put an antiquated cassette
player in her new Honda just so that she could play an ipod. The fact is
that the Hondas come with a cd option on their radios. On the back of the
radio there is a place to put an adapter, around $70, and it will have RCA
outputs so that you can hook up any audio device with a headphone/rca
adaptor. Some people like to work harder than smarter. You can just route
the wires, hidden through the console, so that your ipod can be put in your
    center armrest.

The PIE adapters plug into the connector on the back of stock units where
either a CD changer or a Cassette deck plug in.

I have a Sony NetMD. The above adapter allows me to play sound.
For the iPod, they have a more involved controller-adapter.

There are two kinds of FM modulators. The $30 variety transmits FM, maybe
on only a few frequencies. I have one of those, the Belkin sold at the
iTunes store. It works okay out in the sticks. Anywhere near another FM
radio staion, or power lines, there is interference.

When the music is quiet, the radio is not. There is always hash.

The other style FM modulator plugs inline with the antenna, which
presumably would do away with interference from other radio stations,
but it costs nearly as much as the Aux Input adapter, and requires access
to the back of the radio for installation, so why not go with the adapter?

wow, the response is overwhelming, thanks much. I have searched all
options and still wonder however as none of the websites, products etc
etc (with the exception of the FM transmitter) confirms compatibility
with the 2005 Hondas. Is that something to consider? has the '04 radio
changed all that much or are the '05s just too knew to confirm?

Thanks for all the great info. I had found and or looking into most of
these options. Should I be concerned however that most of the vendors
websites state "up to 2004" models? I called HOnda USA to ask of the
differences between the '04 and '05 stock 6 changer CD/XM radios and
they couldnt tell me! They told me to call a local dealer who
could/would call Honda Tech Support and then was told by a local deal
    that they are too busy!

    UGH.

    Call P.I.E. and ask.
They cleared up some questions about my 2003 Civic Hybrid, which appears
not to be the same as other Civics according to Crutchfield, but PIE says
    it's the same.
