I have a 2000 Civic SiR (Si in the US). My question is does anyone know
what the Honda spec is for the movement of the clutch pedal? What I mean
is how far from top to bottom does a properly adjusted clutch pedal go?

The reason I ask is that mine seems to be a quite large distance compaired
to my friends 1997 civic and I was told the other day at a performance shop
that it seems really long compaired to other civics.

    thanks

I don't have an answer. That just may be the way honda is building
the clutches for civics these days. I have an O4, EX sedan 5 spd. I
can tell you that the clutch stroke is significantly longer than any
other manual i have driven. Also, the engagement point is very high.
Although the clutch is very smooth, I am getting tired of bringing my
knee up to my chest to shift. Could be time for an automatic :)

    Best of luck,
    Marc

The clutch height can be adjusted as far as I know. On my 01 Prelude
(30k km) the clutch engages within the middle third of the total pedal
travel. On a friend's 90 Integra (130k km) it is in the bottom quarter.
His clutch disengages completely only when the pedal hits the floor and
over a smaller distance than on my Prelude. There is nothing wrong with
his clutch, that's the way he adjusted it.

In my Haynes manual for 94-00 Integra,96-00 Civic and 97-00 Cr-V,the clutch
pedal height is specified at 6.5 inches for Civic and Integra, and CR-V is
    spec'd at 7 3/16 inches.

clutch freeplay is 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

K i just mesured mine and it is 6.75 in... so i guess that is normal. I
think it must just engage higher and makes it feel really long.
