My daughter took her 1999 Accord LX to a local parts store for diagnosis of
a check engine light. She was told that she had a bad oxygen sensor ( I
don't remember which one) and that she should replace both of them. Was
told that just replacing the faulty one might cause the other to fail. Any
truth to this? Anything else that I should check for?

    Thanks...Tom

Sounds bogus to me. If you are doing the work yourself, I would replace
the failed one only. If the store is right, you'll have to replace the
second one soon, same total cost as replacing both at the same time. If
the store is wrong you saved yourself a bit of cash.

The store is trying to make an extra few coins. I had my 99 to the dealer a
year ago and they replaced the front sensor, said nothing about replacing
    the rear one.

  4. I had the same problem with my 1999 Accord. It was still under warranty.
They only replaced the one mounted in front of the engine.
