My Check Engine Light Came on today. is there anyway for me to figure out
what the problem is without bringing it to the dealer and having it hooked
up to the computer and billed out the ass.

    Thanks Tom

Sorry my bad english but try to understand.
I had same problem in my CR-V after I clean the engine with water (very
    little )
If you ask from dealer they tell that only way to solve that problem is
    diagnose-service.
But If you think there is nothing wrong in your car you can try to take away
    "backup fuse" for 10 sec.
Its normally 7,5A and its under the hood beside battery.
If there are really somethin wrong in your car the light comes back again
and then its better that you
go to service to find out what is the reason for light.

Your question has been covered MANY times here and/or in the
Toyota/Nissan newsgroups...search for "check engine light" or "cel"
    and look them up!

If you can't find anything, THEN post. Don't ask the same question
    over and over again...search first.
