cam timing

I just installed a set of JDM ITR cams into my friends 2000 honda civic SIR
    (Canada).

His motor is still very new (purchased car new) and up until now the only
things he has installed is dc sports 4-2-1 header and full catback exhaust,
    dc intake, fuel pressure regulator.

Yesterday I completed the swap out of his factory USDM SiR cams with JDM ITR
cams and I admit that the torque has improved but not enough to really
    impress me.

I've recall reading in the past about optimizing cam timing to make the max
    gains from his new upgrade.

Suggestions as to what is a good and safe setting to gain more? Presently
his AEM cam gears are set to 0 degrees for both cams.

    Thanks
P.S. altitude is about 2300 ft about sea level and the ambient temp range
is anywhere from -30 to +30 celsius using 91 octane fuel.

Go ask on the Honda-tech.com forums. I don't like the concept of
forums, but there seem to be a lot of tuners there. Or take it to the dyno.

Only way to find out is to dyno the car.

BTW I'm on both Honda Hybrid boards, the CRX board, Honda Tech, and quite a
    few others.

Their is no "magic" setting that works on all cars. It is called "TUNING!"
