Ok new here so thank you for any information.

    Vehicle 2015 Honda Pilot 2wd 105xxx miles

I am a bit of a car guru but always willing to learn.

Last week my wife's honda surged when pulling into a parking space hitting a pole pretty hard. This also happened about a week prior when my son (32) was driving the vehicle so I know.my wife is not crazy. I was also in the car about 1 month ago when she was driving and this happened and at the time thought it was just a glich No light on dash, no codes (I'll explain later)in computer.

Did a bit of research and find out there is a recall for this very thing going on recently (Jan 25). So we make appt with dealer dealer says they cand find anything by testing the faulty parts and since no code they would not do the recall work since they have not gotten to her VIN yet as they are spacing them out.

What they did say and this is where I need help. They said the computer was running rich because of a low temp reading at the temp sensor.....but they did find a "after market bcm device attached to the radiator in a wiring harness and that was making the car jump because it controlled the gas to the engine and was running rich."

First, this is the biggest line of BS. Second she requested the part and it looks factory to me but as I said it looks like a small 1 inch by 1 inch by 3/8 inch blac box. Has factory plugs, and a ground wire with fuse. Have no clue what it is.

Honda said it was a fuel saving device that was offered a oem on certain vehicles but not ours.

Now like I said I am a bit of a car guy. I was not there for this exchange. Does anyone know what the heck they are talking about. I have photos of the piece if needed but with all the k knowledge out there I was sure someone would know what I am talking about.

Going out to the car to see where they pulled this from.

The device had a male and female factory plugs. The wires are red and black with a fused ground wire whole thing is only 8 inches long.

    Thanks for any help,

    Rich
