Any idea about how to replace the window motor and regulator?

    Hi, all
    I have a 96 Honda Accord 4Dr. The driver side power window does not work
    not :( Asked Honda dealer and they suggest me to replace the window
    regulator/motor.

    However, I have no idea about how to replace the power window
    regulator/motor. Is it complicated or I can do it by myself? And if I do
    it myself, do I need disable the airbag system first before I take apart
    the front door panel?

    If it has no side-impact bags, no worry. But, you may wanna disconnect
    battery until you get in there. Often the original motor is held in with
    rivets--cut 'em off w/a chisel or dremel grinder. Replace new motor with
    bolts & nuts.
    Put merthiolate on cut hands--bandage the more severe cuts:). If you're
    careful, you can do it w/o cuts, but is awfully sharp in there in that
    narrow space with so much exposed metal edges.
    BEFORE you tear into it, while holding the switch in the direction that
    should operate the glass, bump along the door panel with your
    (wife's?)fist--often, brushes will stick and break loose from the banging
    and continue to work for who knows how long? HTH & good luck....sdlomi

    I had a window control unit go bad on two of the 89 Accords we owned.
    Caused the same thing you have happening. It is a printed circuit in a
    plastic box the size of a pack of cigs located behind the left front
    door liner. Factory tech manual shows how to diagnose. Cost twenty bucks
    at the junk yard. bob

    pull the door panel, then take out the 2 bolts that hold the glass to
    the regulator, take the window out of the door. now pull the 4 bolts
    from the reg. and the 3 from the motor , disconnect the motor harness
    and pull the whole mess out.
    the control unit on that car is in the master switch

    After yu have the old stuff out of the car, power it with 12 volts, and
    see if indeed you need a new one, or if there is another problem. bob
