99 Accord EX V6, 52,000 miles.
The check engine light went on on 1/2/04. Took it into dealer. They said
it was a problem with the catalytic converter, which will have to be
replaced. None in stock and will not be available for 3 business days.
1) The catalytic converter is covered by special warranty, so i would
not have to pay. I did not ask if this would cover any labor charges.
Will I have to pay for labor or other fees to change the catalytic
converter.
2) Is it rare for a catalytic converter to fail on an 99 Accord, after
52,000 miles?
3) Is this a sign of other things to come? The warranty has run out on
this car?
