I have a 97 HONDA Accord. When I start the car it stats fine
(usually) but for the last two weeks, i'll be driving even on the
highway and the car dies out with no warning. There is no jerking or
sputtering, the RPM's go down and it just shuts off. When I go back
to start it, it will start again. I took it home the last time it
happened and now it starts sometimes, other times it starts and dies
right out. It's not making any noise and when it drives it runs fine.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be???

  2. Sounds like the ignition switch. Contact a dealer because your car may have
been part of that massive ignition switch recall.

Does this happen during the first ten minutes of starting or has it
happened when the engine is good and hot?

The article on my webite below under 'Miscellanea' about my
Rover 216GSi (a Honda in disguise) may help.

    Hi,

Actually its very random...Sometimes when I start the car it dies out
right away and I have to try a few more times before it finally
goes...on the other hand there are times when it starts right away,
and ill be driving for about an hour and it will die, there is not
really a set time that ive noticed. It seems to happen when the car is
    cold or hot...
