I am having a problem with my 1996 civic's temperature control slider.
I don't think it's connected any more to the mechanism. I read here:

    http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/showthread/t-226492.html

that on the 94 model you can get to the area by taking out the stereo.
Can you do the same on the 96 model? If so, does anyone have any
    instructions I can follow?

    Thanks,
    Chris

  2. In this order: Take out the center armrest, the shift console, the
glovebox, left and right lower dash panels, the lower center console,
two bolts behind radio, the radio, the mystery pocket, and then the lift
out the climate control panel as far as needed.

Yeah, that all sucks. See if you can find the problem with a flashlight
first. There are two heater air valves; one on each side of the heater
core. There's also a hot water valve but I can't remember where it is
at the moment. All three components must move together for the heater
    to work.
