    ran fine on the way to work.
    at lunch time, crank, but didn't even come close to catching.
    not flooded
    when I turned the steering wheel, then it started
    any suggestions what to look for?

  3. ============================

    Car warmed up inside while sitting. Smacking the dash with the key in
    position II would have worked the same too. Replace or resolder the Main
    relay.

    The other suggestion made (main relay) is perfectly valid but it could
    also be the ignition switch.
    Since it started when you turned the wheel, perhaps you jiggled
    something that is making intermittent contact. I'd make sure that all
    connections to it are tight.

    Is it repeatable?
