I replaced my alternator and now I would like to put a new alternator belt
on, however I cannot figure out how to get one of the drive belts off. l
loosened and removed the belt that extends closest to the hood, by
loosening the pivot and adjuster bolts, but there is still a belt in the
middle of the complex that I cannot get off. I have the car repair manual
but it is vague and does not help. Please help if you know how to do it.
    Thank you so much.

On my 1999 the "middle" belt is for the AC compressor. Loosen the bolt
through the center of the idler pulley, and then back off on the adjuster
screw until you can take the belt off.
