Sometimes when I park and turn off the ignition, the car keeps chugging
and then dies. Any reason? thanks

It's called "dieseling" - compression ignition is still happening, just
like in a diesel engine. The most common cause I'm aware of is excess
carbon buildup in the head - it can continue smoldering and acts like a
glow plug. Too lean a mixture can cause the head to run too hot and
    trigger it as well.
