My girlfriend's 88 Accord has lost all power twice in the last couple
of weeks right after starting and traveling a couple hundred feet.
Both times the car had been driven for a while and then stoppped for a
half hour or so. The first time this happened it sat over night and
then she sprayed Carb Fluid in the carburator and it started right up.
She took it to a mechanic to have it checked out but he found nothing
wrong. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

    Thank you

If you have not had a carburator overhaul by now this could be your
problem. When all the fuel in the float bowl burns up, the engine dies.
I had this problem with my '88 Accord.

  3. Change your fuel filter often. I think there's two. The rust buildup
in the fuel tank (especially from continuously being low on fuel)
will usually clog the carburetor which is noticeable by poor acceleration.
