3 high pitch beeps whenever the key is removed ???

  1. My 2001 Accord collided with a deer... which required replacement of
several things in the front, including the hood itself.

After the repair, the car seems to be running fine now. However, I now
notice something that was never there before: Whenever I pull the key
out of the steering wheel (regardless whether I start the engine or
not), the car sounds 3 high pitched beeps.

These beeps are not the same as the ones reminding me to remove the
car key from the steering wheel. They certainly sound like some kind
or warning. However, no warning light is on.

I have no idea whether this is connected to the accident or whether it
is only a failure to reset some maintenance reminder.

Any idea what this could mean?

    Thanks,
    Sam

Does the radio have a removeable control panel (faceplate). You could be
hearing a reminder to remove it for security reasons. It may have been
silenced at some point. If the battery was disconnected during the repairs,
the radio settings may have reverted to the default warning mode.

  3. Chuck, I just positively verified your idea and... you were right on
    the money!

    How did you know? :)

    Thank you so much!

Setting up an automobile is becoming as complex as adjusting the
    configuration of a new computer.
