  2. Be sure to stop at all RR crossings.

Look both ways twice to avoid that Mack truck.

Don't let the kid or wife drive it...

Kid's only eleven. Wife hates manual trannies, so won't drive my car. I'm
    safe there.

That leaves RR crossings, Macks, and the odd drunk or 16 year-old.

    Sixty-nine miles.

I don't have to go to the office tomorrow, so nobody's gonna know if I go
out for a drive. Maybe I'll run her over then; it's just 69 miles.
34.5 out, 34.5 back. No big deal.

Tell us where you'll be at 300,000.0 and we'll all meet you there.

At the top of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    Be there or be square.

  6. Actually Tegger, the correct conversion for km to miles is 1.609344 km/1 mi.

That means your actually at 299922.82mi.

  7. Be sure to give the ol' girl an oil change, check her tires, coolant
level... And you'll be on the way to 400K!

You trying to tell us its the same engine? OR was it towed all over the
    country behind a RV? ...LOL

Then that means my Metric-conversion calculator is wrong.

It gives me one mile as being just 1.6093 km.

  10. probably a moot point, since if your speedo is off by even 0.5%, your mileage
would be much different either way. I was just being silly.

I have the same conversion factor as above, i.e., 1.609344, from the
Convert program I've used for several years. I won't post it but would
be happy to email it to anyone. Ditto for a time checking program from
the (US) National Institute of Standards & Technology), which queries
one of the govt time servers via TCP/IP.

As far as getting the time servers right - absolutely.

You have faith in "free" markets & the private sector? <incredulous
look> You must enjoy getting screwed.

Odometer reading tonight in km: 482975.3

With conversion factor as presented by my $10 calculator: 300,115.1
    With Terry's and Tony's conversion factor: 300,106.9

I'm over the hump either way. Onwards to 400,000!

It took me exactly one month shy of 17 years to make 300K. If the trend
holds, I'll hit 400K about Labor Day, 2013.

Next target: an odometer reading of 500,000km, which should happen just
    before Halloween this year.

    Congrats Tegger!
Your dedccation to this car is inspiring; most don't give that much effort
    to their marrage.
But it makes sence. I drive a donated 96 Suzuki Esteem. I'm going to do
everything I can to keep it going. Its job is to get me back and forth to
work for as long as it can; when it breaks we will see about a repair. the
more miles I put on it the more I save; currently only 110,000 miles, but
it's not a honda... I got it at 80,000 and put a junkyard motor in it, and
so far 30,000 miles problem free, 'cept for the cv boot I need to replace...
