2026 CR-V what speed for electric?

I am on the verge of buying a 2026 CR-V. I previously had a Chevy Volt which I drove in low to simulate one pedal driving. With the Volt, I never drove on gas till I exhausted the battery so most of the times I was driving on battery.

The AI says the CR-V will drive electrically till about 45 miles per hour. Since I do a lot of driving off highway, this seems to be the hybrid most similar to what I had. Is that right?

I notice there is an eco mode I can select. Does that help me stay in battery mode longer?

And at low speeds are the regen processes enough to juice up the battery or does the car use a generator to top it off?

We bought a CR-V Hybrid one week ago. Previous car was 24 Blazer EV. That had one pedal driving. The CRV is not really one pedal. It slows down, and you can pull the paddle to make it slower, but not even close to one pedal driving. Maybe I have not found the right setting.

Drive electric until 45, I don't think so. It will take off from a stop in Electric mode, but you never know when the gas motor comes on. I think it is usually way before 45. Highway mileage is only 34, so it does eat some gas.

We really like how the car drives. Very smooth and comfortable to drive. But compared to the Blazer EV, this is a hybrid, only half EV, and it performs like that. You only get half of the EV driving experience.

The good news, driving range, over 400 miles. The Blazer advertises 240 miles of range. But that is deceptive. That is from 100% charge to 0. They don't recommend charging to 100%, you could do that on a road trip. You don't want to go less that 20%, so the real range is more like 150 miles. No worries with the Honda, we are planning some big road trips.

Yes, the battery stays charged. As I understand it, the gas motor runs the generator.
