I have a 2010 Honda Civic EX w/o the navigation system.

According to the specifications, the audio system includes a subwoofer.

But when I use the audio controls, it says "Subw OFF" (meaning the
    subwoofer is off).

How can I turn it on? I don't see any control or button to do that.

Read the audio section of the owner's manual-- it will tell you how to
    work the controls there.

If you don't want to do that, just stop by your dealer. The service
writer who gets you will be ecstatic to see you as he'll be a slam dunk
to win the Stupid Owner Question of the Day Pool...

    I figured it out.

I had forgotten that I had the Fader control set to emphasize the front
speakers. Evidently when you do that, the subwoofer (which is in the
rear) is automatically switched off. You have to set Fader to at least
balance between front and back speakers for the subwoofer to be capable
    of operating.
