My daughters car died and the diagnosis was a bad transmission. ??? Anyway, car has about 200k. Rather than pay $8000 to the shop, we've purchased a used trans and it is currently being shipped.

As we prepare to do this job (pull the old and replace with a used) I am curious if anyone has some helpful hints, tips, tricks that we should be aware of.

Also - Should I purchase a new torque converter? And also - new solenoids?

Appreciate in advance any wise words shared.

Should come with torque converter, I would flush cooler lines. Part stores sell flush kit. If you have never replaced a transverse tranny, should be fun. You are going to have to support engine and loosen cradle bolts to get it out and back in. Enjoy.
