    Good Morning.
Just purchased above CR V for my daughter (the 2000 chucked its belt).
Anyhow, she runs fine, but seems to have a bit of a "hum" around 40-50 mph.
Tires are great, and its not really a big deal, but I was wondering if this was a trait of an aging CVT, or something more sinister. Any input would be awesome. Also, she has read on some forums that the rack and pinions go bad. This one has no leaks, and steers well and tight. Thoughts on the '04's in general, and / or things to look out for?
    Thanks !!

Remove the drive belt and run the engine for a few seconds and try to locate the noise.
