why? it's bad for the car with slow warm-up at idle killing the engine.
and it's bad for you if the vehicle gets stolen - you have to place a
key with the chip transponder in the vehicle. find the key and drive away!

Not entirely true, about the key-chip that is. Many of them make systems to
over-ride, bypass or mimic they key-chip, and are only active when turned on
by the remote starter brain box. Still can be fooled by "extra" hot-wiring,
but will the thief want to spend the extra time when there is probably an
    easier car nearby?

Why would it be bad for the engine?
I live in a safe area with no such problems.
Beside - car is fully insured so there is nothing to worry.

Anything by DEI (Python, Viper, etc...) or CodeAlarm. Make sure you deal
with a good shop that uses a proper security override module and not some
place that merely tapes your stock key to the steering column.
