2002 Accord Radio Static

I seem to be getting an unusual amount of static on my radio (AM only) while
driving in certain areas. I do not get the static in my other car (Nissan
Pathfinder) in the same areas.
Any ideas?

I had this problem awhile back with an aftermarket radio in a Civic;
when I finally dug it out and grounded the chassis of the radio, the
problem went away.

I seem to be getting static on my FM radio.. BAD Static.. like you
cant hear 4 words every 10 seconds. Only happens after I have been
using the radio for awhile. I believe my radio (Sony) is shot..
seems like its gets too hot and shorts something out. Yeah..
seems like it has nothing to do with my accord itself... but who
knows.
