2000 S2000 Questions

Discussion in 'S2000' started by Mike Wizynajtys, Dec 29, 2003.

  1. I'm looking at buying a 2000 Honda S2000. The one I'm looking at has
28000 miles on it and the owner is asking $21000+/- for it. Is that a
reasonable price for one in excellent condition with an extended warranty?

Is there anything I should be looking for besides dents and scratches be
certain the car is in good shape?

    Thanks

    Check with

Does the seller have a record of maintenance and repairs made to the car?

I trust you checked that the extended warranty is transferable. Does the seller
have a receipt showing how much he paid for this ext'd warranty? Add the
pro-rated value of this to any price Edmunds spits out, of course.

I've heard that the new one (S2000) is just as quick on the track, but
more suitable for streets. I'd hold out for the one with better
    dynmaics.

  4. Make sure it wasn't in an accident. And I'd be more suspicious if it had
    been modified.

That may be a reasonable price for a stock S2000 (including correct type of
Bridgestone Potenza S02 tires in excellent condition) with low mileage,
extended warranty and overall excellent condition. But I'd be inclined to
    try for $20,000.
