What is the best way to do the brakes on 97 crv? I have the book, but
my real question is about the brease. Do I put it on the shims? all
sides? I know to put them on caliper pins. On the caliper anywhere?
I have all honda parts from majestic.

Put no grease /anywhere/ on the pads or mount bracket except on the pad
backing shims (and even that is optional).

If you do put some on the shims, put a dab of Sil-Glyde on the pad side of
each backing shim. The dab should be 1/4" diameter for the fronts, and
1'8" dia for the rear discs (if so equipped). The thickness of the dab
should be /no more/ than the thickness of a business card. The stuff will
spread like crazy once squeezed by the caliper.

You need Sil-Glyde for the pins and their boots.

If you do the rears, there's something like 13 points that need to be
lubricated. The rear shoes last almost forever, and the new ones don't
come with much meat on them, so measure them before replacing.

Make sure you lubricate the sliders on the front calipers.

I assume that these are the stainless steel springy things that hold
the pads? Do I do both sides of the shims? The inner pad has two
shims, should I grease all four sides and the back of the pad? Also,
what about any parts of the pad/shims set that comes in contact with
    the caliper.

You never bothered to read my original message, did you?

    I repeat it here:
