1995 Honda Civic ex clutch question.

Hi all, I am starting to feel some catching when I shift gears on my civic, I have the haynes manual, and it states that if the clutch is depressed and you rev the engine, wait two or three seconds and shift, if there is grinding then you probably have a component problem. I am assuming that the best solution would be to by the clutch replacement kit and spend a weekend under my car learning how to work on a clutch.

My question is: should I wait for the thing to go out totally before I do this, and could the problem be related to something else, so I could be waisting my time.

The car has 152,000 miles. I am assuming that because of this It probably needs to be done.

Any help from more experienced honda owners would be greatly appreciated, as I am a newbie to honda ownership and car repair.

If the clutch is hydraulically activated, maybe you should try the
simplest solution first? Flush the brake fluid in your clutch system and
see if removing any air has 'firmed up' the response of the clutch.
While you're at it, check to see if the throwout adjustment is correct.

I always try to do the simplest / cheapest fix first.

Your brake fluid is overdue for a change too. Don't shake the can of
brake fluid before using it.......
