I've noticed that in the last month or two, my 1995 Civic Ex engine is very
loud every time I hit the gas. In addition, the pickup isn't the greatest
until I reach about 40 mph or so, and then it takes off. I don't know if
it's the exhaust causing the problem, or the belts, muffler or what. It's
an automatic transmission, and the car only has about 18,000 miles on it.

Since it has so few miles on it, I've never had the fluids changed - just
the oil and filter once a year.

    Any suggestions?

I hope you've changed the timing belt at least once, right? You should
be changing the oil more often too, since that interval is based on TIME
    as much as mileage.

Brake fluid, tranny fluid, coolant are affected by age too.
I wonder if your timing belt may have jumped a tooth ? ? ?
